1. Golden Sand Dunes
The World Heritage-listed Sigatoka region, one of Fiji's most stunning coastal vistas, is an archaeological gold mine and was Fiji's first national park. Pottery shards dating back 2500 years, and the Pacific region's largest prehistoric burial site have been unearthed here.

2. Visit Sri Siva Subramaniya temple
Sri Siva Subramaniya temple is a colourful Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Shiva. It is the largest Hindu temple in the southern hemisphere, and one of Nadi's most easily recognised landmarks. You must dress modestly when visiting.

3. Nadi
The idyllic coral isles of the Mamanuca Group are scattered across a protected sea west of Nadi and north of the Malolo Barrier Reef.
Nadi, pronounced as 'Nandi' is the bustling gateway to Fiji and home to the International airport. Although smaller than Suva, Nadi is the country's main visitor hub. You'll find a great selection of shops, restaurants and nightlife, as well as sightseeing tours and cruises to the offshore islands.

4. The Garden of the Sleeping Giant
The Garden of Sleeping Giant was started in 1977 by the late Raymond Burr, star of Perry Mason and Ironside. The Garden is a must see for all Orchid lovers. The exquisite beauty of the garden is unsurpassed by most, housing one of the world’s largest orchid collections plus beautiful cultivated greenery and enchanting lily ponds. The Garden of the Sleeping Giant is sure to take your breath away.

5. The Coral Coast
The Coral Coast has fabulous beaches, including surf beaches, as well as cultural and historic attractions. The Coral Coast also has a jetboat safari along Fiji's majestic Sigatoka River. You will find Fiji’s largest international resorts along the Coral Coast between Nadi and the Suva.
Shark diving in the wild is an everyday thing here. Firewalking and traditional dancing accompany the Fijian feasts at island nights staged at the main resorts. Some of Fiji’s best surfing is along the Coral Coast’s fringing reef; shuttle boats provide access to the world class wave at Frigate Passage.






6. Suva
Fiji’s capital, Suva, is a vibrant, multi-cultural city with plenty of activities, and a great selection of bustling restaurants, nightlife, shopping and markets. The markets and colonial buildings of Suva, can be toured on a daytrip from Nadi or the Coral Coast. Indian restaurants are recommended for lunch and a Chinese restaurant best for dinner.
Colo-i-Suva Forest Park in the hills above Suva is one of Fiji’s top ecotourism attractions, with nature trails and waterfalls in a mahogany rainforest.

7. Suva's Fiji Museum
Located in the middle of the Thurston gardens, the Fiji Museum begins with a display of different kinds of canoes and boats and even has part of the burnt out remains of the Bounty.
The museum houses an excellent collection of cultural and historical artifacts including war clubs, cannibal implements, jewellery and musical instruments. Pride of place goes to Ratu Finau, Fiji's last remaining double-hulled canoe, an impressive 13-metre long maritime marvel.

8. Vanua Levu and Taveuni
The resorts at Vanua Levu and Taveuni  are mostly small and intimate. Taveuni is spectacularly scenic with lush flora and numerous waterfalls, while the southern town of Savusavu is Vanua Levu's main visitor centre. Eco adventures can be enjoyed on these islands. The two main islands in the northern group of Fiji hide some of the best dive spots in the world.

9. Viti Levu
With its beautiful coastline, rainforests, swaying canefields and beachfront resorts, Viti Levu is the largest of Fiji's 332 islands, and boast a great range of activities and accommodation. Suncoast-Rakiraki is two hours north of Lautoka, this unspoilt area combines the lush tropical climate of the east with the sunny climate of the west. As Viti Levu's northermost point, this region enjoys spectacular sunrises and sunsets.






10. Kadavu
Kadavu  is the fourth largest island in Fiji, located south of Suva and surrounded by the world-famous Astrolabe Reef. The reef at Kadavu is a prime dive site with drop-offs, underwater caves and walls and a rich array of coral and marine life. There are also kayaking safaris.

11. The Yasawa Islands
The Yasawa Islands chain runs up the west side of Fiji, northwest of Viti Levu. The chain’s jagged peaks are clearly visible on the horizon across Bligh Water from Lautoka. Tourism is relatively new to the Yasawa Islands.
A Bula Pass allows island hoppers to stop for a day or two at all of the main resorts. The Pass covers unlimited catamaran travel within the Yasawas, but only one trip back to Nadi. Traditional Fijian culture is preserved intact in the local villages where almost all of the resort workers live. The Island resorts and their sandy beaches offer numerous watersports and cruising/boating opportunities.

A key element for many travelers has become the quality of the food. Travelers today are interested in more than just discovering a beautiful natural landscape, or a pristine beach, or a stylish resort. Many people will even travel to a resort or destination simply because of the chef. 13. Dive & Snorkel
The Beqa Lagoon, offshore of Pacific Harbour, have some spectacular dive sites, and the Yasawa group also has superb diving sites around Tavewa Island. The northern Island of Taveuni Kadavu in the south are particularly well known for their superb underwater landscapes and numerous species of tropical fish.

Fishing is a way of life in Fiji. Angelfish, clown fish damselfish, groupers, triggerfish and thousands more thrive among the protective corals. Fiji’s abundant marine life is found in the reefs and lagoons that surround the islands. You will find mahimahi, skipjack, trevally, tuna, swordfish and larger sharks in open water. A number of game fishing tournaments are scheduled between March and October throughout the islands. The most common food fish is the white butterfish, abundant in these waters

Also Kadavu, Viti Levu, and Taveuni are places to see Fiji's 80 species of land and freshwater birds.  Look out for red and green kula lorikeets which can be seen collecting nectar and pollen in populated areas. 22 of the land bird species are endemic. The larger birds are easily seen on the main islands, which tend to be more ecologically intact.

Rugby union has been the sport of choice all over the republic, ever since the game's introduction by the British in the late 1800s. Whether you are in a large town or the smallest village, there will be a rugby field and plenty of eager participants ready for an impromtu game.
