1. Suqaar

Millet/sorghum is an important stable food of the somali cuisine. Garow has a wonderful nutty taste and highly nutritious, full of protein and it contains high amount of vitamins. It s often used in Somali flat breads such as lahooh in a flour form as well as other breads.

It is a Somali style rice cooked with broth. The rice is so rich in flavor, it stars with the spices that give the rice a pleasant aroma that fill the whole room and then combined with homemade stock which gives a rich taste.

This recipe can be made with white bread of your choice, the custard powder gives a thicker texture, sometimes the spices can be changed, and cinnamom can be added. Different addons such as cardamom, cloves, or all spice can also be tried dependin what you like. Finally, when it is out of the oven, serve it with Icecream or custard.
